Bryce Harper (right wrist inflammation)
Status:10-day injured list
Harper was placed on the injured list with right wrist inflammation on Saturday, June 7, retroactive to Friday, June 6.
Harper has been wearing a brace on his injured wrist. Thomson said on Sunday, June 15 that the “range of motion” in Harper’s wrist is “almost back to where it should be.” He is cleared to take ground balls, but has not begun throwing or hitting.
Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski told Gregg Murphy on the pregame show on June 17 that he is “not concerned” about long-term repercussions regarding Harper’s injury. Dombrowski did not reveal a timetable for a return, but said he doesn’t think it will take “a long long time down the road” for Harper to get back into the lineup. “He’s been cleared to go ahead and get back in the lineup whenever he feels comfortable to do that,” Dombrowski said. – Last updated on June 17 by Destiny Lugardo
Aaron Nola (stress fracture in right rib)
Status: 15-day IL
Aaron Nola’s puzzling stint on the injured list has continued with no clear end in sight. After originally being sidelined with a sprained right ankle in May, Nola now has a stress fracture on the right side of his ribcage, the pitcher clarified on Friday. Phillies manager Rob Thomson initially announced the injury as a stress reaction.
The veteran right-hander is still experiencing pain when he breathes deeply, moves in certain ways and tries to throw. Therefore, he is shut down from throwing. He’s not sure when he’ll be able to resume throwing activities and is just waiting for the rib to heal. “I don’t really have any answers right now,” Nola said.
Once Nola returns — whenever that is — he’ll likely require multiple rehab starts in order to get stretched out as a starter. It would be hard to imagine him pitching for the Phillies again in the first half of the season. — Last updated on June 13 by Ty Daubert.
So, we have a lot of injuries. This is part of the recent losses, but not all of it. The entire team is in some kind of slump, and it reminds me of what has been going on with the Braves.
I don’t understand why the Manager continues to put Romano in games when the Phillies have a chance for a win. Romano is the worst pitcher. He should be released.

Say what Barb? Slump? Losses? Like…1 loss in 10 games.

I do not understand why he is not looked at as the solution in cf. Right now he is playing better then both Marsh and Rojas. Trade one for a reliever

Nola’s first IL stint due to injury since 2017. That must have been the longest active streak for a starter.
